This Joint Memorial requests that the Washington State Transportation Commission officially designate the State Route Number 3 overpass at the junction of Chico Way NW in Bremerton as the "Joe Mentor memorial overpass" to honor Joe Mentor's extensive public service. The memorial highlights Joe Mentor's significant contributions to Kitsap County, including his 50-year career as a real estate developer and builder, his development of the Eldorado Hills housing development, his service as a Washington State Representative, his involvement in various business and community organizations such as the Kitsap County Bank Board, Olympic College Board of Trustees, and Chambers of Commerce, his role as former publisher of the Kitsap Journal, his ownership of Kitsap Bremerton Charleston Transit (now Kitsap Transit), his leadership in the home builders' association, and his dedicated volunteer work with numerous community groups including churches, the NAACP, and the Boy Scouts.
