This bill creates a special license plate for the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council, Inc. that will help fund the Blackstone River Valley Environmental Clean-up and Education Fund. The bill authorizes the Division of Motor Vehicles to issue these special plates, which will be designed by the Tourism Council in collaboration with state authorities. Drivers who choose this plate will pay a $40 initial issuance surcharge, with $20 going to the general fund and $20 going to the Tourism Council's environmental fund. For subsequent annual renewals, an additional $10 surcharge will be collected.
