This bill directs the Mississippi State Department of Health to issue a Certificate of Need (CON) to a nonprofit corporation located in Madison County for the construction, expansion, or conversion of beds in a community living program for developmentally disabled adults. Specifically, the bill modifies an existing law to increase the number of allowable beds from twenty (20) to forty (40) in such a facility, effective July 1, 2025. A Certificate of Need is a regulatory process that requires healthcare facilities to obtain state approval before making certain changes to their services or capacity.
