AI Summary

This bill requires businesses with public restrooms to maintain those facilities in a clean and sanitary condition during their hours of operation. Specifically, the bill empowers the State Department of Health to inspect these restrooms and conduct investigations if a complaint is received about unsanitary conditions. If an inspection reveals that a restroom is not meeting cleanliness standards, the Department of Health can issue an order to the business owner mandating specific actions to bring the restroom up to an acceptable level of sanitation. The legislation will go into effect on July 1, 2025, giving businesses time to prepare for and implement the new requirements. The bill aims to ensure that customers have access to hygienic restroom facilities when patronizing businesses, with the state health department serving as the enforcement mechanism to maintain these standards.
