Specifically, the agency must break down the grant administration expenses, including the total work hours needed to administer the grant, the average hourly cost of staff time, any additional costs such as vendor or consultant charges, and the total amount retained for administrative purposes. Furthermore, the administering agency is required to provide a copy of this detailed disclosure to the appropriations subcommittee responsible for overseeing the grant. The bill will take effect on May 7, 2025, and aims to increase accountability and provide clearer insight into how grant funds are used for administrative overhead. This new section (63G-6b-202) will help grantees and oversight committees better understand the administrative costs associated with state grants.
