Tenants or a qualified tenant organization now have 70 days to form an organization and notify the owner of their interest in purchasing the community. The bill introduces new provisions for electronic delivery of notices to certain agencies, requires owners to provide updates to the department of commerce every six months about the sale status, and maintains a requirement for good faith negotiations. Additionally, the bill allows tenants or eligible organizations to seek injunctive relief and recover damages if the owner does not substantially comply with the notification requirements.
