This bill amends the Arizona Revised Statutes to modify the composition and governance of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) board of directors. The bill adds two new ex officio (non-voting) board members: the chairperson of the Senate Finance Committee (or their designee) and the chairperson of the House of Representatives International Trade Committee (or their designee). It also reorganizes the existing list of ex officio members, renumbering them and making minor technical changes. The bill maintains the core mission of the ACA, which is to provide private sector leadership in growing and diversifying Arizona's economy by creating high-quality employment and attracting, retaining, and expanding businesses. The board continues to be comprised of the governor as chairperson, the chief executive officer, and 17 private sector business leaders appointed by the governor, senate president, and house speaker. The bill preserves existing provisions about board meetings, conflicts of interest, auditing requirements, and operational guidelines, including limits on the number of full-time employees and the requirement for an annual independent audit.
