This bill establishes a two-year pilot program at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) designed to create partnerships between veterans service organizations, law schools, and the VA to provide better legal support for veterans. The program aims to connect veterans service organizations that can help veterans file disability compensation claims and address other legal needs with law schools that offer pro bono (free) legal assistance. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs will implement the program in states with the highest veteran populations and will use social media to promote these partnerships and notify veterans about available services. The VA will develop guidelines to identify the most effective organizations and institutions to participate in the program. Additionally, the Secretary is required to submit quarterly reports to Congressional Veterans' Affairs Committees detailing the program's social media usage and the number of veterans who received legal assistance through the initiative. The pilot program is intended to improve legal support and administrative assistance for veterans by fostering collaboration between nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and the VA.
