This bill permanently allows members of a public body, such as a government committee or board, who have a disability that prevents them from attending meetings in person to be counted as present for quorum purposes if they participate remotely via videoconferencing, as long as other requirements for remote participation are met. Additionally, the bill makes permanent the existing provisions of law that permit videoconferencing and remote participation in public meetings under certain circumstances, which were previously set to expire.
