This bill amends the Illinois Gambling Act to provide specific provisions for retired sworn law enforcement personnel who were previously employed by the Illinois Gaming Board. Under the new provisions, the Board must either allow retiring law enforcement officers to keep their previously issued identification cards (which will be stamped with "RETIRED") or issue new photographic identification cards that indicate their separation from service and their previous employment. If a retired officer's identification card is lost or stolen, the Board is required to immediately reissue a replacement card upon written request. The bill also maintains an existing provision that allows retiring investigators to purchase their previously issued badge or service firearm under certain conditions, such as having a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card. The legislation aims to provide a formal recognition of service and continued identification for law enforcement personnel after they retire from the Illinois Gaming Board. The bill takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
