This bill creates the Local Solar Access Fund within the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) to support solar energy projects for local government entities. The fund can provide grants to eligible entities like counties, municipalities, school districts, land grants, and Native American tribes to plan, design, construct, purchase, install, and equip solar energy systems for their buildings and infrastructure. The fund will be composed of appropriations, donations, investments, and other allocated funds, with money not immediately needed able to be invested.
