This resolution honors the life and legacy of James Leroy Kendrick Jr., a prominent Augusta, Georgia businessman and community leader who passed away. Born in 1942 in Jewell, Georgia, Kendrick was known for his entrepreneurial success, strong faith, and extensive community service. As president of Augusta Blueprint & Microfilm Inc. and founder of Creative Colors Inc., he was recognized nationally, including being named "Minority Retail Business of the Year" in 1984. Kendrick served in leadership roles for numerous organizations, including the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and the CSRA Business League, and was dedicated to mentoring and empowering individuals in his community. He was a devoted husband to Mildred Nipper Kendrick for 58 years and a father to four children, and was deeply involved in his church, serving for over 50 years. The resolution celebrates his extraordinary legacy of leadership, service, and compassion, recognizing him as an inspirational figure who positively impacted countless lives through his professional achievements, community involvement, and personal character. The Senate resolves to honor his memory, commend his lifelong commitments, and express condolences to his family, with the Secretary of the Senate directed to provide an official copy of the resolution to his family.
