This bill amends the Wyoming Acupuncture Practice Act to create a comprehensive regulatory framework for naturopathic medicine in the state, expanding the scope of the existing acupuncture board to include naturopathic medicine. The bill establishes detailed requirements for licensing naturopathic physicians, including mandating graduation from an approved naturopathic medical program accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME), passing a national licensing examination administered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE), and undergoing a background check. The Wyoming board of acupuncture will be renamed to include naturopathic medicine and expanded from five to nine members, with three members specifically being licensed naturopathic physicians. Starting January 1, 2026, practitioners will be required to be licensed to practice naturopathic medicine in Wyoming, with some exceptions for educators, emergency responders, and students. The bill becomes effective July 1, 2025, with the rulemaking provisions taking effect immediately upon becoming law.
