This bill instructs the state board of elections to create and distribute comprehensive voter guides and election notifications through multiple channels. For primary and general elections, candidates will be required to submit detailed biographical information and answers to issue-based questions to the state board of elections at least six weeks before the election. The board will then compile these candidate profiles into a voting guide that will be emailed to registered voters with available email addresses and mailed physically to at least one person in each household with a registered voter, ensuring distribution at least three weeks before the election. Additionally, the bill mandates that the board send two physical postcards to households with registered voters, notifying them of upcoming election dates, with mailings timed approximately 10-15 days and 5-7 days before the election. Furthermore, the bill requires all major television and radio stations operating in the state to broadcast election notifications at least four times daily between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. for ten consecutive days prior to each primary and general election. The state board of elections will also maintain a public website with all voter guide information. The bill will take effect 180 days after becoming law.
