Bill Summary

This bill requires the college student aid commission to collect a single, nonrefundable annual authorization fee, in an amount specified in the bill, from certain entities that do not pay a registration fee to the commission under current law. S.F. _____ H.F. _____ Such entities include an entity exempt from registration with the commission under Code chapter 261B or an entity maintaining or conducting in Iowa any educational course by classroom instruction or by correspondence or by other delivery method, or soliciting in Iowa the sale of such course under Code section 714.18. The commission may increase the fee annually by an amount not to exceed 3 percent.
