This bill requires operators of family child care homes to provide detailed written notification to parents and guardians about the presence of firearms in their homes, starting January 1, 2026. Parents or guardians must sign an acknowledgment of receipt of this notification, and the operator must keep these signed acknowledgments for at least three years and make them available to the Office of Early Childhood upon request. The term "firearm" in the bill refers to its definition in section 53a-3 of the general statutes, and the provisions will become effective July 1, 2025.
