This bill amends Mississippi state law to increase the annual salary ranges for circuit and chancery court reporters, changing the maximum salaries based on years of experience. The changes will take effect on July 1, 2025, and no part of these salary increases will be paid from the State General Fund. The bill maintains existing restrictions, such as prohibiting court reporters from practicing law in the court where they serve and limiting compensation for special or extended court terms.
