This bill amends Wyoming's law regarding wildlife conservation license plates by expanding the application process to allow county treasurers to accept applications and payments, in addition to the state department. The bill maintains the existing $150 initial eligibility fee and $50 annual renewal fee for these special license plates, with an option for vehicle owners to make voluntary additional donations supporting wildlife conservation efforts related to transportation. Applicants can now apply for these plates through their county treasurer, and the fees collected will continue to be directed to the wildlife conservation account within the state highway fund. The bill also requires the department of transportation to create implementing rules and sets the effective date for the changes as July 1, 2025. The wildlife conservation license plates are available for non-commercial and non-multipurpose personal vehicles, and the plates will still be issued by county treasurers and can only be displayed on the specific vehicle for which they are issued.
