This bill establishes the "Mississippi Health and Welfare Efficiency Task Force" to improve government services by examining and streamlining operations across several state agencies. The task force will consist of 12 members, including the executive directors of key state departments like Medicaid, Human Services, and Mental Health, along with three senators, three representatives, the Attorney General, and the Governor (or their designees). All state agencies are mandated to provide necessary facilities, information, and assistance to support the task force's work, and the Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review will provide administrative support. The task force can meet in person at the State Capitol or use an online platform that allows public viewing, with a majority vote required to approve any final recommendations.
