The notice must indicate whether videos or recordings of the incident exist and must be delivered via email or mobile application, with provisions for alternative delivery if parents haven't provided contact information. The notice cannot include names or identifying details of students involved. Additionally, the bill prohibits charter schools and school districts from retaliating against teachers or employees who report, discuss, or participate in investigations about school violence or dangerous conduct. The new reporting requirements will take effect for the 2025-2026 school year and later, while still maintaining student data privacy protections under existing federal and state laws.
