Applicants must submit detailed information about their proposed training, including the type of training, duration, number of students, and associated costs. A special fund will be created in the state treasury and funded by 6.75% of sales tax revenue collected from construction-related activities. The primary goal is to facilitate construction industry training, with community and junior colleges being the main entities responsible for implementing these training programs. The fund will be managed by the Mississippi Department of Employment Security and disbursed to the Office of Workforce Development upon legislative appropriation. The program is set to begin on July 1, 2025, and aims to help address workforce development needs in the construction industry by providing financial support for educational training initiatives.
