This bill establishes the Office of Achievement and Innovation within the Minnesota Department of Education to support school districts and charter schools in implementing innovative academic practices. The bill modifies a previous appropriation, shifting $2,000,000 annually from the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Center to this new Office of Achievement and Innovation. While the office will provide advisory guidance and resources, its recommendations will not be binding on school districts or charter schools. The new office aims to promote academic innovation and provide supportive resources to educational institutions across Minnesota, with the section becoming effective immediately following its enactment.
