Building owners must also post clearly visible signage indicating the availability of the induction loop system and submit a biennial self-certification form to the state fire prevention and building code council confirming the system's functionality. The legislation defines an "induction loop listening system" as a technology that uses a wire loop around an area to produce a signal received by hearing aids, and broadly defines "area of public assembly or service" to ensure comprehensive coverage. The state fire prevention and building code council is required to update relevant building and fire codes to implement these provisions, and the law will take effect seven months after becoming official.
