This resolution congratulates the Brazoswood High School girls' water polo team on winning the 2024 University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A state championship, recognizing their exceptional performance during the season. The Lady Buccaneers had an outstanding year, with only two regular-season losses and a District 12-6A title, and ultimately won the state championship in a thrilling overtime match against Richmond Foster High School. The team, led by Most Valuable Player Mallory Kesler and coached by Robert Brown and Kiel Haner, finished with an impressive 28-2 record and featured notable contributions from 16 student-athletes. The resolution highlights the team's hard work, commitment to excellence, and achievement of their first state title in girls' water polo, and formally extends congratulations and best wishes to the players, coaches, and staff while also directing that an official copy of the resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of respect from the Texas House of Representatives.
