AI Summary

This bill provides limited legal immunity for pesticide manufacturers and sellers in certain civil lawsuits. Specifically, the bill states that manufacturers or sellers of pesticides will not be held liable in civil actions related to product labeling, including failure to warn claims, if the pesticide's label was approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) at the time of sale. The legislation applies to pesticides that are registered both with the state commissioner and the EPA, effectively shielding manufacturers and sellers from legal action when they have complied with federal labeling requirements. The bill will go into effect on July 1, 2025, providing a clear timeline for implementation and giving businesses time to understand and prepare for the new legal protection. By offering this immunity, the bill aims to reduce potential legal risks for pesticide manufacturers and sellers while maintaining the existing federal regulatory framework for pesticide labeling.
