This bill requires annual performance audits of Medicaid-funded programs, with specific procedures for selecting and conducting these audits. Starting July 1, 2025, the chairpersons and ranking members of the General Assembly's human services committee must provide the Auditors of Public Accounts with a written list of at least two Medicaid-funded programs to be audited each year. These performance audits will be conducted in accordance with existing state statutes, and the administrators of the selected programs will be required to provide any information the auditors deem necessary to complete their review. After completing each audit, the Auditors of Public Accounts must report their findings and recommendations to the Governor, State Comptroller, and relevant legislative committees. Additionally, within 30 days of completing the audits, the Commissioner of Social Services must post a link to the audit results and recommendations on the Department of Social Services' website. The goal of these audits is to ensure the efficient and effective use of Medicaid funding by providing independent oversight and assessment of program performance.
