The bill mandates that institutions share this information during student orientation, recruitment events, and in related materials, targeting prospective students, parents, guardians, new and current students, academic advisors, and campus career counselors. Additionally, institutions must share the link and explanations on their social media accounts at least once per semester and on their campus career center website. In the event the College Scorecard is discontinued, the Maryland Higher Education Commission is required to compile and make similar data available to institutions, working collaboratively with higher education institutions and using data from sources like the Maryland Longitudinal Data System. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2025, aiming to provide transparency and help students make more informed decisions about higher education.
