This bill modifies Mississippi state law to expand the sales options for native wineries by allowing them to sell wine at one additional satellite location within the same county as their original winery. Specifically, the bill amends Section 67-5-11 of the Mississippi Code to permit native wineries to make sales not only at their primary location or immediate vicinity, but also at one satellite location in the same county. This change provides wineries more flexibility in selling their products directly to consumers or the Department of Revenue. The term "native winery" refers to a winery established and operating within the state of Mississippi. The bill maintains the existing provision that allows native wineries to sell to producers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, or consumers located outside of Mississippi who are legally authorized to purchase wine. The legislation will go into effect immediately upon its passage, giving native Mississippi wineries a new option to expand their direct sales opportunities within their home county.
