This bill modifies the existing manufacturer's license regulations for breweries in Rhode Island by allowing licensed manufacturers to sell one one-sixth (1/6) barrel keg of malt beverage, produced on their own premises, per day to visitors for off-premises consumption. Currently, manufacturers can sell up to forty-eight 12-ounce or 16-ounce bottles or cans of malt beverages per visitor per day, and this bill adds the option of selling an additional one-sixth barrel keg. The bill does not change other existing restrictions, such as the requirement that beverages sold for off-premises consumption must be in sealed containers and sold pursuant to retail Class A establishment laws. The bill would take effect immediately upon passage, providing an additional sales option for small breweries and manufacturers to sell their products directly to visitors.
