This bill modifies Pennsylvania's vehicle registration laws specifically regarding farm vehicles, removing time-of-day restrictions for driving exempt farm vehicles on highways. Under the revised law, farm vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (Type A) and those weighing between 10,000 and 17,000 pounds (Type B) can now be driven on highways at any time of day, instead of being limited to sunrise to sunset. These farm vehicles can travel between parts of a single farm, between farms located within 50 miles (for Type A) or 25 miles (for Type B) of each other, and to and from nearby businesses within those radii for purposes such as buying or selling agricultural supplies or getting vehicles repaired. The key change eliminates the previous sunrise-to-sunset limitation, effectively expanding the operational flexibility for farmers when using their registered farm vehicles on public roads. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment.
