This resolution pays tribute to Gilbert J. Riojas III of Corpus Christi, who passed away on December 13, 2024, at age 47. A native of Texas, Riojas was a successful agricultural professional who worked as general manager for La Babia Cattle Company and served in leadership roles with various cattle and beef organizations, including the Texas Cattle Feeders Association and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Born in 1977 to Tina and Gilbert Riojas, he graduated from Austin High School and attended Texas A&M University, where he formed lifelong friendships. Married to Andrea Martinka for 20 years, he was a devoted father to daughter Rylynn and known for his kindness, generosity, and vibrant personality. The resolution formally honors his life and professional contributions, extends condolences to his family, including his wife, daughter, parents, sisters, nephews, nieces, and grandparents, and requests that an official copy of the resolution be prepared for his family. The Texas House of Representatives adopted this resolution unanimously on March 6, 2025, adjourning in his memory.
