This bill, known as the "POLICE Act of 2025", aims to make the assault of a law enforcement officer a deportable offense for non-U.S. citizens. Specifically, the bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to create a new deportation ground for any alien (non-citizen) who has been convicted of, admitted to committing, or admits the essential elements of assaulting a law enforcement officer.
