This bill establishes a new distinctive license plate for YMCA members in New York and creates a dedicated fund to support the New York State YMCA foundation. The bill allows any New York resident who is a YMCA member to request a special license plate by applying to the Department of Motor Vehicles. The $25 fee will be directly deposited into the newly created New York State YMCA Foundation Fund, which will be used exclusively to support YMCA programs and initiatives. The fund will be jointly managed by the Commissioner of Taxation and Finance and the State Comptroller, and will be able to accept additional grants, gifts, or bequests.
