To ensure compliance, the State Board of Education can impose a $1,000 per day civil penalty if a school board fails to post the required information within one week of receiving an official notice. The bill applies to both traditional school districts and the Chicago Public School system, and is designed to provide parents and community members with greater insight into what students are learning in their local schools.
