The changes apply to three types of disabilities: permanent disabilities (expected to be irreversible), moderate duration disabilities (expected to last more than 6 months but be reversible), and temporary disabilities (expected to last 6 months or less). The bill maintains existing requirements for displaying and using these special parking permits, such as hanging the placard from the rearview mirror and using it only when transporting a person with a disability.
