This bill establishes a pilot program to provide free information technology (IT) assistance to small businesses in Minnesota. The program will offer technical support services such as help with computer software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, websites, and internet technologies. Specifically, the pilot program will create a dedicated hotline staffed by IT experts from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, which will be advertised on the small business assistance office website. The program defines a small business according to the federal Small Business Act and aims to supplement existing small business support services. The bill includes a one-time appropriation from the general fund to support the pilot program's implementation in fiscal year 2026.
