He was a lifelong member of Epworth United Methodist Church, maintained the local community center and pool for over forty decades, and was deeply committed to his family, including his wife of 64 years, Barbara Jean Gainous Knight, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The resolution acknowledges Knight's exceptional character, highlighting his integrity, compassion, loyalty, and dedication to both his professional work and community service.
