The notification must include specific details such as the exact date of discontinuance, the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the five nearest pharmacies (including independently owned options), instructions for transferring existing prescriptions to another pharmacy, and information about what will happen to prescription records if customers do not transfer their prescriptions before the pharmacy closes. The bill aims to ensure that patients are well-informed and can smoothly transition their prescription needs when a pharmacy permanently shuts down. The law will go into effect 60 days after it is signed.
