With over 275 JROTC units in Georgia serving thousands of students, the Youth Assembly provides an opportunity for young leaders to experience the legislative process firsthand, with students able to run for positions like Youth Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House. This year marks the 81st anniversary of the Youth Assembly, which the resolution notes has a long-standing tradition of excellence in serving Georgia's students. The resolution specifically commends the organization for promoting civic engagement and teaching future leaders about state government processes, and directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute an official copy of the resolution to the Georgia Center for Civic Engagement.
