This bill authorizes Cattaraugus County to discontinue using certain reforested lands in the town of Perrysburg for their original purpose, specifically to rehabilitate a dam and develop the land for future use. The bill describes four specific parcels of land totaling 63.73 acres that are currently vacant and not being used for recreational or reforestation purposes. However, the county can only proceed with this change if it acquires and dedicates an equal or greater value of land for reforestation purposes. If the newly acquired lands are of lower value, the county must use the difference to acquire additional reforestation lands or improve existing reforested areas. Additionally, if the lands described in the bill are ever used for a purpose other than dam rehabilitation and land development, they must be restored to their original state and maintained as reforested lands. The act will take effect immediately upon passage, and it overrides existing county law provisions regarding reforested lands.
