The bill also updates fee distribution rules, specifying that 50% of permanent registration fees will be distributed to counties in proportion to property tax distribution, and the remaining 50% will go to the highway fund. Additionally, the bill provides a fee exemption for permanently registered trailers and makes conforming amendments to existing statutes. The changes will apply to trailers registered on or after July 1, 2025.
