This bill amends the Idaho Code to update the annual license fees for attorneys practicing in Idaho, increasing fees across different membership categories for the years 2025 and 2026. For active and house counsel attorneys, the fees will increase based on years of admission, ranging from $115-$175 in 2025 to $130-$200 in 2026 for newly admitted lawyers, and from $380-$425 in 2025 to $425-$485 in 2026 for more experienced attorneys. The bill also introduces a new "senior members" category with a $70 fee in 2025 and an $80 fee in 2026, and increases fees for inactive and emeritus members from $135-$150 in 2025 to $150-$170 in 2026. Attorneys over 72 will see their annual fees rise from $60-$70 to $70-$80. The collected funds will continue to be used by the Idaho State Bar to administer the organization, support local bar associations, promote legal education, foster public relations, and maintain a clients' assistance fund. The bill includes an emergency clause, meaning it will take effect immediately upon passage and approval.
