This resolution recognizes Officer Anthony J. Rouba for his distinguished service in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the Chicago Police Department. Born in Chicago in 1967, Rouba served in the Marine Corps with the 1st Marine Division, participating in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and receiving multiple awards, including two meritorious promotions. After being discharged, he trained at the Chicago Police Academy and joined the Gang Enforcement Unit, where he sustained injuries while apprehending dangerous offenders. Of particular note is his service during the 2012 NATO Summit, where he was injured while attempting to maintain a police perimeter in Chicago and subsequently returned to duty to help manage protesters. Currently assigned to the 12th District Patrol Division with star number 15409, Rouba is being honored by the Illinois Senate for his exemplary service and commitment to public safety. The resolution not only acknowledges his professional achievements but also symbolically affirms the Senate's respect by directing that a copy of the resolution be delivered to Officer Rouba.
