He began his career as an assistant district attorney in Texas before returning to Tennessee, where he became a successful business owner, founding Shaffer Farms Custom Meats and Texas Bar-B-Q and owning an exotic deer farm. Known for his innovative spirit and unique interests—including maintaining an exotic cat collection—Shaffer was deeply devoted to his faith and family. The resolution celebrates his entrepreneurial achievements, his commitment to community, and his legacy of integrity, noting his survived by his wife Brenda, multiple children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
