This bill authorizes the Bethalto Community Unit School District No. 8 in Madison County to release all legal restrictions and interests in a specific piece of real property that was originally conveyed to the Community Hope Center, Inc. through a quitclaim deed in 1997 under Public Act 90-71. The bill removes previous covenant conditions that gave the school district reversionary rights, such as the ability to reclaim rental income or proceeds if the property was leased, sold, or transferred without district approval. On April 24, 2025, the school district passed a resolution to extinguish these deed restrictions, including tax-exempt qualification requirements and the right to reclaim the property if it was abandoned or transferred. The bill specifically authorizes the school board secretary to prepare a quitclaim deed that releases all interests in the property, which is located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 2, Township 5 North, Range 9 West, and requires that the deed and related documents be recorded in Madison County. This action is intended to make the property more marketable and free of historical encumbrances.
