This bill modifies several sections of Georgia's hunting regulations to explicitly allow hunters to wear fluorescent pink outer garments in addition to the previously permitted daylight fluorescent orange clothing during certain hunting activities. Specifically, the bill updates three different code sections related to hunting feral hogs, bears, and deer during firearms and primitive weapons seasons. Under the new provisions, hunters and their accompanying persons must wear at least 500 square inches of either fluorescent orange or fluorescent pink material as an outer garment, positioned above the waistline and potentially including a head covering. This change provides hunters with an additional color option for safety clothing, which is designed to increase visibility and help prevent hunting-related accidents by making hunters more easily distinguishable from game animals. The bill maintains the existing requirements for clothing coverage and positioning while expanding the acceptable color palette for safety gear from just orange to now include pink as well.
