The bill allows THC-containing beverages to be transported in the vehicle's trunk or behind the last upright seat if no trunk is present. Violations are classified as a simple misdemeanor, and individuals under 21 who possess such beverages may be subject to additional penalties under section 123.47. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2025, and aims to prevent the consumption of THC-infused beverages while operating or riding in a motor vehicle, similar to existing regulations for alcoholic beverages.
