This bill appropriates $500,000 from the State General Fund to the Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) to support clean energy initiatives in Nevada. The funding can be used for providing bridge or gap funding for qualified clean energy projects, offering technical support to state and local agencies, and covering staffing and administrative costs of the NCEF. In exchange for receiving the funds, the NCEF must submit two detailed reports to the Interim Finance Committee - an initial report by December 18, 2026, and a final report by September 17, 2027 - documenting all expenditures. Additionally, the NCEF must make its financial records available to the Legislative Auditor if requested for an audit. The bill specifies that any unspent funds must be returned to the State General Fund by September 17, 2027, and the appropriation cannot be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2027. The term "qualified clean energy project" is defined by existing Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS 701B.965), and the act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval.
