This bill requires toll project entities operating lanes with dynamically priced tolls to install and maintain dynamic message signs at each entrance point to those lanes. These signs must be clearly visible to all road users before they enter the lane and must display three specific pieces of information: (1) the total cost of driving through the tolled lane from that entrance point to the final exit, (2) the current travel time for the tolled lane from that entrance point to the final exit, and (3) the current travel time for any adjacent non-tolled lanes covering the same distance. The purpose of these signs is to provide drivers with transparent, real-time information about toll prices and travel times, helping them make informed decisions about which lanes to use. While the bill is passed immediately, toll project entities are not required to implement these signs until January 1, 2026, giving them time to plan and install the necessary infrastructure. The bill will take effect on September 1, 2025.
