This resolution congratulates Patricia "Trish" Thompson, a Canadian immigrant who became a naturalized United States citizen on October 26, 2024, after arriving in Texas in 2006 to work for Dow Chemical Company. The resolution highlights Thompson's personal journey, noting that she fell in love with Brazoria County, married her husband Jeffery in 2012, became a stepmother to his two daughters, and worked for MEGlobal in a role supporting operations in both Canada and the United States. After beginning her citizenship application in 2023 and completing her civics test in September 2024, Thompson was officially recognized for her achievement during Brazoria County Day at the State Capitol on February 25, 2025.
